2008 Ride for Dad was a success!
The Golden Horseshoe Ride for Dad and its Committee would like to express our heartfelt THANKS to all those riders who came out and braved the day. The weather started out a bit wet but ended up being an awesome day for riding!
Despite the weather, we had 201 riders who managed to raise over $45,500 in pledges and we thank everyone for their efforts!
Here are the winners of the day: (including the Juravinski Cancer Foundation!)
Gordon Bell - most pledges raised $5,500, 2nd year in a row - won 42" ILO TV donated by Wal-Mart

Richard Bodt - 2nd highest pledges raised $3,233 - won a VIA Rail pass first class travel for 2
Paul Henshall - 3rd highest pledges raised $2,470 - won a Swiss Army Watch donated by Wakefield Canada Inc.
Chuck Jamieson - 4th highest pledges raised $1,540 - won a Canon Photo Printer donated by Wakefield Canada Inc.
Honourable mention to:
Wendy Passmore-Skuse - our very own Co-Chair raised $2,050 in pledges

Best Poker Hand - won by Mike Root with 4 - 6's. Mike won a Classic Leathers Gift Certificate towards Harley leather riding boots valued at $250
Farthest Distance Travelled - goes to Ron Pond who travelled over 3,000 km, YES you read that right! Ron came from Gloverton, Newfoundland to join us for the ride. Ron's prize was, you guessed it..... $100 in gas coupons donated by Pioneer Petroleums. That should help on the ride home!
Breakfast - hosted once again by the Hamilton Optimists was greatly enjoyed by all and raised a whopping $402
Remote Control Harley draw - raised the Ride $170 and was won by Gary Clinton
We would like to send a very special Thank You to every one of our Sponsors and donators who helped make the day enjoyable for all!
Once again, thank you for coming out to ride, and for everyone who donated their time and energy in making the 4th annual Golden Horseshoe Motorcycle Ride for Dad a great success ... Thank you
